Even as the coronavirus has set to spread across the entire nation, the Additional Executive Officer of TTD (Thirumalai Tirupathi Devasthanam Board), Dharma Reddy, informed that it has been decided to implement stringent safety/precautionary measures as this is the place where a large number of devotees gather all the time.
As around a lakh of devotees visit Tirupathi temple to have Darshan of Lord Venkateswara or Ezhumalayan, the higher officials of TTD conducted a meeting on Saturday (7th March) regarding implementing the safety measures to prevent spreading of coronavirus.
Additional Executive Officer Dharma Reddy shared regarding this:
Awareness creating video-clips to create awareness about coronavirus and the preventive measures to be taken will be set up in Tirupathi screening this on the LED screens installed in the waiting halls or places where large devotees converge and the offices where the TTD staff are employed.
The devotees must arrive with masks. Talk to others, keeping a distance of 3ft. Facilities for detection with thermal scanning facility and giving treatment have been set up.
A blood-test lab has been set up at the SIMS Hospital in Tirupathi. Medical teams have been deployed at the Alibiri and Srivarimettu pavement route.
He explained that in case affected by the virus, the devotees must visit Tirupathi only after complete cure in order to prevent the spreading of the virus as there is always a large crowd of devotees in Tirupathi!
