TANGEDCO - Online facility to change names for electricity connection!

TANGEDCO Officials have informed that the facility to change the name of the consumer for the given power connection will be available from 1st April.
They further explained in this regard:
The Chief of TANGEDCO has approved to facilitate online operations through the official TANGEDCO website for the low-tension power consumers to carry out the change of name of the consumer.
So, the citizens who apply for a change of name of the consumer due to various reasons such as selling, sharing, handing over, gifting, death of the current consumer, etc., have to furnish the details of Name, Address, Telephone number, Cell Number, e-mail ID, the present name given for the connection, etc.
Once receiving the details regarding the required charges, through the internet, the concerned officer can take action to implement the required changes.
In case errors are found in the submitted application form for the above, the applicant must be informed immediately.
At the same time, if the received application is 100% correct, the requested name change MUST be carried out WITHIN 7 DAYS!
This system will be implemented throughout Tamil Nadu from 1st April!
