Hindalga Prison is located in Belagavi in Karnataka State.
More than 500 convicts, including those convicts who have been given life sentences are put up in this prison and other convicts.
The officials of the Hindalga Prison have come up with a proposal that a normal citizen can undergo the experience of living a day as a prisoner by paying Rs. 500/-!
The officials shared regarding this proposal:
“We have decided to implement the proposal to allow a citizen to undergo the experience of living a single day as a prisoner on payment of Rs. 500/-! We are awaiting government approval for this proposal.
For those interested to undergo this experience, they will be given the dress for prisoners, the food given to the prisoners, the tasks given to the prisoners, etc.
They will be treated exactly like a prisoner!
THEY WILL NOT BE GIVEN ANY CONCESSION!
The main objective of this proposal is to reduce the temptation among the citizens to indulge in criminal activities!
This proposal is intended to create awareness among the public regarding prison life!”
