Auto fares deadline ends on Monday

The extended deadline to regularize auto fares in Chennai expires on Monday. The Supreme Court had, at first, passed an order in which it gave July 6th as the deadline for the Tamil Nadu Government to come up with a solution. Not having met the deadline, the date was extended. However, there has been no development since.
‘The government is likely to seek an extension of the deadline to implement its order. The government is likely to file a report in court that will seek more time’, said S.V. Ramamurthy, who filed the petition with the Supreme Court.
