In TN, very heavy rains are predicted on 17th and 18th October!!

The Department of Meteorology has mentioned that in the Delta districts belonging to Tamil Nadu there are possibilities of very heavy rains on 17th October and in the southern districts on  18th of October.

The Director of Chennai Meteorological Center Mr. P. Senthamarai Kannan has released a statement and according to that due to the prevailing atmospheric air circulation over central and south-west Bay of Bengal there would be light to moderate rains with lightning and thunder in many places in TN, Puducherry and Karaikal for 4 days.

15th October:

Today, 15th October, districts such as Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai,  Pudukottai, Madurai, Sivagangai, Thiruvannamalai, Thirupathur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, kallakurichi, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Trichy, Dindigul, Theni, Karur, Namakkal, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Nilgris plus Karaikal and Puducherry etc are likely to get very heavy rains.

16th October:

Except Thiruvannamalai district, all the above said districts in TN would receive heavy rains on 16th of October.

17th October:

On 17th October,  Delta districts, district of Pudukottai and Karaikal would receive heavy to very heavy rains in one or two places. It is learnt that in one or two places belonging to the districts like Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Salem, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Kallakurichi, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Namakkal, Trichy, Karur, Dindigul, Teni, Madurai, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar etc there would be very heavy rains.

18th October:

Heavy to very heavy rains would occur in one or two places belonging to Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi on 18th October. Districts like Theni,  Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Erode, Coimbatore, Namakkal, Salem, Karur, Trichy, Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi and Karaikal etc would receive heavy rains in one or two places.

Chennai:

In Chennai, the sky would be partly cloudy for the next 2 days and moderate rains with thunder/lightning  could take place in one or two places.

Paechiparai belonging to Kannikakurai district received  the highest rainfall in TN in the last 24 hours that ended till 8:30 am on 14th October.
