The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre official has informed us that the northeast monsoon rainy season is set to commence the day after tomorrow (Saturday, 29th October).
In an interview session with the media personnel in this regard, the Head of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre Balachandran, shared:
"There is a conducive climate for the commencement of the Northeast Monsoon Rainy Season on 29th October (Saturday)! As such, the rain will gradually increase in Tamil Nadu.
Due to the formation of Cyclone Citrus, there has been a delay this year in the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season.
There are prospects for medium rain in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until 4th November due to the cyclonic format developed over the upper layers of the atmosphere."
He further said that there has been a 45% excess rain in the southwest monsoon rainy season this year as compared to the expected average rain.
As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain partly cloudy in the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few places in the city!
The maximum temperature will be 33 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 26 Degrees Celsius.
