Sudden flooding in several Chennai localities now

The NE monsoon did exactly what it was expected to do!!
On Monday, many localities in Chennai were under water as heavy rains lashed Chennai due to NE monsoon. Water logging is posing a huge issue for many residents now. To clear the water on the roads, teams of Corporation workers were sent.
By the evening of Monday, there were as manya s 61 complaints regarding waterlogging and about 41 of these complaints were resolved. Point is that zones residents from places like Perungudi gave complaints regarding water logging in their localities. Near the Horticultural dept premises, there was waterlogging on the stretches of Bharathi Salai, G.P. Road, Arunachalam Road and under the Anna Flyover etc. The water logging present in Bharathi Salai was cleared by the corporation workers.
To bail out water, submersible motors were deployed in Nerkundram, Pallavan Nagar and Pillayar Koil Street etc. There were power outages also in several places in Chennai. In places like Vembuliamman Koil street, Parangusapuram and in the 18th Avenue in Ashok Nagar, there was no water stagnation reported. It is known that in these places SWD are being constructed now.
Residents belonging to places like Choolaimedu and Chintadripet were unhappy regarding the heavy water stagnation. To report water stagnation in the localities, residents can call the number 1913.
