Margazhi month has started and it`s the month when the Tamilians will be more devotional. The weather now in Chennai is cool.

In a few days, the weather would become cooler as the temperature would dip by 2 degrees Celsius to 3 degrees Celsius. This was mentioned by some officials from the regional weather office.

In the last few days, Chennai is witnessing northerly winds and due to this the maximum temperature has come down now.

As per a senior officer belonging to RMC, on 17th December a low pressure had formed over central parts of south Bay of Bengal and the adjoining east equatorial Indian Ocean. As a result, there has been a sudden drop in the temperature since morning. The low pressure  system is expected to move towards the Sri Lanka coast and the temperatures would become normal. Truth is that when the NE monsoon withdraws in january 2023, winter season would start in Tamil Nadu. For the next 2 months, Chennai and TN would experience coldest days.

In Chennai, now, the maximum temperature is 29 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is 23 degrees celsius. The temperature would be around 28 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees celsius for the next 2 days. The atmospheric circulation that prevailed over the coastal areas has led to haze in the early morning hours in chennai last month. The moisture increased and temperature reduced by 2 degrees. This has affected many flight services also.  The intense rain throughout the year has led to many districts to witness cold wave conditions even in the summer season.

An independent weather blogger, Mr. K. Srikanth explained that when there is northerly wind then high pressure would be present on the Indian subcontinent and there would be relief from dry weather. By the end of December, there would be another low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.
