Now, the CMDA is busy preparing the beach beautification as a part of Thiruvanmiyur & Thiruvottiyur beach fronts projects. The residents living near the coast want the damaged infrastructure to be restored. By this superb project, public access to open spaces would be improved plus a harmonious beachfront city would be created.
Regarding Akkarai beach and Kasimedu Beach, DPR or Detailed Project Report would be readied. The superb piece of information is that the first phase of the beach beautification work would be completed by February 2024. In another 10days, the project report for the Thiruvottiyur beach would be ready. This was mentioned by Mr. Anshul Mishra, CMDA member secretary.
According to the chief planner of CMDA, Mr. Rudramurthy, tender work would be carried out in the November month. He threw light about how the turtle nesting areas have been identified and how instead of concrete natural materials would be used.
It must be noted that the residents want better civic infrastructure along the coast and have requested the civic agencies to implement the projects for the sake of local aspirants instead of the tourists.
