There are chances of rains in a couple of places in Tamil Nadu from today for 6 days. This was according to the meteorological dept in Chennai. It is known that there were rains in TN for almost the entire December and it has been dry now.
It was brought out by the press release from Mr. P. Senhamarai Kannan, director of RMC, Chennai that from today to 5th of January there might be light to moderate rains in one or two places in TN, Puducherry etc. On 6th and on 7th, light to moderate rains might occur in some places in TN. He added that Chennai and its suburbs would have partly cloudy skies today.
In the 24 hours that ended at 8:30am yesterday, there was a maximum rainfall of 3cm in Oothu and Nalumku belonging to Tirunelveli district. Two cm rainfall was recorded in Kakachi and Mancholai and 1cm rainfall in Tenkasi dist Ramanadi.
Till 5th of January, in the Kanniyakumari Sea and nearby to Gulf of Mannar, there would be winds blowing at speeds of 40kmph to 45kmph.The fishermen were asked not to venture into the sea.
