Chennai stands 3rd in issuing maximum passports

Chennai stands third on the issue of maximum number of visas to foreigners. Between the months January and August 2013, about 6906 Visas were distributed in Delhi, 2549 in Mumbai, 1832 in Chennai, 846 in Kolkata, 17 in Bengaluru, 12 in Hyderabad, 10 in Kochi and 4 in Thiruvananthapuram.
On the whole, about 12176 visas were issued between these months. Foreign visitors include people who visit the country for medical procedures, international conferences, heritage trail needs and many more.
