The boat race, a prominent event within the `Kodai Vizha,` has been rescheduled to May 25 due to rain.
Originally planned for Tuesday at Bryant Park in Kodaikanal, Dindigul district, the ten-day summer festival, Kodai Vizha, showcases folk dances, music, cultural performances, a boat race, and a dog show, as highlighted by District Tourism Officer H Govindaraj.
Kodai Vizha draws a significant audience, garnering enthusiastic responses from both the public and tourists, according to sources. The `Dog Show,` arranged by the Animal Husbandry Department as part of the festivities, is set for Wednesday.
In addition to the boat race and dog show, the festival featured a vibrant display of artistic talents by performers from Dindigul and neighboring districts, captivating spectators with colorful attire. Furthermore, debate shows were included in the program. Tourists particularly appreciate the generally pleasant weather during this event.
