The Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) announced additional bus services in anticipation of increased travel demand during the upcoming holiday season. With the weekend and school mid-term break approaching, passenger traffic from Chennai to various destinations across the state is expected to rise.
Starting Friday, September 27, 2024, TNSTC will operate 395 special buses from Chennai`s Koyambedu to destinations such as Thiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, and Coimbatore, with 345 buses scheduled for Saturday. Additionally, 70 buses will run to Thiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, and Bengaluru over the weekend.
On Sunday, special buses will be available to return passengers to Chennai and Bengaluru. Travellers are encouraged to book tickets in advance through the TNSTC website or mobile app to avoid overcrowding. Adequate staff will be present at all bus stations to assist with the special services.
