Government schools advertise their infrastructure & quality of education

Posted on: 28/May/2015 2:22:04 PM
This year, there is a trend for government schools advertising through printed leaflets about their capability, infrastructure, and quality of education just as done by many private schools. There are 14000 private schools in Tamil Nadu.

There are several types of private schools -
  • Schools which run LKG & UKG classes.
  • Schools which run 1st Standard to 8th Standard.
  • Schools which run 6th Standard to 10th Standard & +2.
These private schools complete admission of new students well before the school reopening. Though there have been strict orders from matriculation schools that new admissions should be made only after May, most schools do not follow this procedure.

Many schools advertise by printing the photographs of their students who excelled by scoring excellent marks and about their quality and admit students.

On the other hand, there is admission rush in the government schools. Hence, the department of primary education has ordered the government schools to seek more admissions.

The department has also stressed that headmasters of the government schools must make house-to-house visits and ensure that non-school going children in these schools must be admitted.

It has also insisted that campaigns on the new admission should start immediately. Now, they have advertised by printing leaflets which give details of 14 free items given in the government schools.

Some schools have printed leaflets advertising about their Yoga training, Smart classes, DTH facility, Building facilities, Toilet facilities, Library facilities, Skype facility, Internet facility, Drinking water facility, Science Laboratory facility, faculties for indoor games like carom-board or chess, high-quality teachers, and latest sports equipment.

Some government school headmasters have planned to deploy their students after school reopening to conduct processions to carry out slogans & distributed leaflets seeking admissions.

However, parents point out that a number of facilities available in private schools are not available in government schools and hence do not prefer government schools!
