The Meteorological Centre has informed that the impact of summer has come down in the Chennai due to the formation of an upper layer cyclonic effect,
This year, Chennai has been reeling under the impact of severe summer right from April. However, it rained heavily during the 2nd week of May in Chennai and some of the districts.
With the onset of the Southwest monsoon in Kerala in the 2nd week of June, there were 2 days’ of widespread rains in most parts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai. This led to somewhat cooler days for these few days.
However, severe summer resumed in Chennai. As the rains abated in Kerala and there was less humidity in the air, the intensity of the heat was more as explained by the Chennai Meteorological Centre.

As an upper layer cyclonic effect has formed due to the thermal convection, the weather has been cloudy in Chennai right from the morning (Sunday, 19th June). However, there would not be any harms In Tamil Nadu posed by the weather.
Due to thermal convection, it may showers or showers with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu. The Chennai will experience a cloudy weather. There may showers or showers with thunder in the evening or night.
The maximum temperature will be 35 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 28 Degrees Celsius.
