Saturday, 8th October is a 2nd Saturday of the month. 9th October is a Sunday. Monday, 10th October is Ayudha Pooja Day. Tuesday, 11th October is Vijayadasami day. Wednesday, 12th October is Moharram festival.
Thus there are 5 successive holidays for the banks.
This may disturb the financial transactions to be done during these 5 days. Since it is a longer period, even ATMs might be affected.
A bank official explained:
As the festivals of Ayudha Pooja, Vijayadasami, and Mohurrum follow the 2nd Saturday and Sunday of the month, the situation of 5 successive holidays has occurred.
However, care will be taken to equip the ATMs with the higher amount of money.
Now-a-days, most of the banks have the facility of the machines to deposit money and updating the passbook. So, public can deposit money without much difficulty.
Further, net-banking services will be functioning throughout these above 5 days.
