Darshan stoppage for 5 hours in Tirupathi temple

The famous annual Brahmotsavam festival in the popular Tirupathi temple of Lord Venkateswara is scheduled to start on 3rd October.

The grand festival will be organised for 9 days from 3rd October till 11th October.

The deity of the Lord Malayappaswami or Venkateswara/Srinivasa will be taken in procession on various carriages (Vahanas) around the corridors of temple offering Darshan to lakhs of devotees both in the mornings and evenings.

One of the most important festival day, the procession on Garuda vahanam, is scheduled on 7th October.

On behalf of this special occasion, the cleaning of the temple was taken up and Azhwar thirumanjanam was performed.

Because of the above , all Darshans from 5.00 AM till 11.00 PM today (Tuesday, 27th September) were cancelled. Later, the temple corridors were reopened by 11.00 AM. Devotees were allowed inside the temple for Darshan.

However, the early morning poojas and Darshan such as Suprapadha Seva, Thoomalai Seva, Archana comprising of Arjitha Seva were all performed on the deity of Lord Srinivasa without the presence of devotees.

For the free Darshan today (27th September), all 32 halls were overflowing with the overcrowd of devotees extending to a queue of 2 km distance. The devotees had to wait for 15 hours to have the Darshan of the Lord.

The wait for the corridor Darshan was 10 hours and for the Rs. 300/- special Darshan ticket, the wait was for 8 hours.
