New Rs.2000 note will have motif of Mangalyan

The new Rs.2000 note will have motif of Mangalyan (ISRO’s Mars mission) on the reverse, depicting the country’s first venture in interplanetary space.
The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) Mangalyan, was launched onboard PSLV C25 on November 5 at 3.28 pm from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. As a memory of this successful event, the motif of Mangalyan will be on the new Rs.2000 currency note.
The colour of the notes is stone grey and the predominant new theme is Indian heritage site - Red Fort.
