The state government of Tamil Nadu has released the procedure and guidelines for the issue of new identity cards for the pensioners (retired from the government services) and family pensioners who draw their monthly family pension.
A brief on the order released by the additional chief secretary of the state department of finance:
An announcement was made in the legislative assembly that new identity cards would be given to the pensioners and family pensioners. Subsequently, the activities on this front are in progress.
The commissioner of the department of treasury and accounts informed that the detailed list of the pensioners, the account number of the family pensioner, name, date of birth, date of retirement, residential address, photograph, Aadhar card number, cell phone number, e-mail address are already being compiled. Still, he has been asked to be with additional details.
Accordingly, the blood group of the pensioners and family pensioners. And their Aadhar card particulars must be compiled. The designation at the time of retirement, the amount of last drawn salary, details of the salary are to be obtained.
If the heirs of the pensioner are of the age up to 25 years, identity card would be issued with their names. The other main relatives (husband/wife) would be given an identity card which is valid life long.
This identity card can be obtained from the government e-service centres by paying Rs. 30.
The additional chief secretary of the department of treasury and accounts informed that the task of distributing these new identity cards would be completed in 3 months.
