Prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of rain with thunder in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to depression zone formed over the land area,
An official from the centre explained a low-pressure zone has formed over the land area and has spread from Telangana to Kanyakumari. As the low-pressure zone is above the land area, heavy rains cannot be expected. However, there are prospects of clouds gathering and subsequent rains in a few places in the next 24 hours in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Chennai Metro will remain cloudy. There are prospects of rain with thunder in a few places in the city.
