On behalf of the SETC - State Express Transport Corporation, new air-conditioned buses with sleeper berth facilities are set to be operated from tomorrow.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, E. Palanisamy, will inaugurate the operations of 500 latest Hi-tech buses tomorrow (Tuesday, 3rd July) in Chennai. On behalf of the SETC, air-conditioned buses and buses with sleeper berth facility will be operated.
These special buses will operate from Chennai to Salem, Theni, Karur, Nagercoil, Madurai, Kovai, Erode, and Tirupur. Similarly, the special buses will start from Kovai, Trichy, and Chennai to Bengaluru from tomorrow (20 buses) and the day-after (20 buses).
However, these new hi-tech buses will not operate from Nellai, Nagercoil, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, Marthandam, and Thiruvananthapuram to the industrial cities of Bengaluru, Kovai, Tirupur, Erode, and Salem. So, the prospective bus passengers from the southern districts and official travel passengers are rather disappointed.
