It is now said that in this year the theme would be ‘Parsec to Plank’ and it would focus on miniaturization. It is known that this is a technical trend in which the sizes of electronic, mechanical and optical products are constantly being scaled down in size while maintaining the same or superior quality.

This event would connect various parts of the institute and by this event it would be possible to learn how to go beyond classroom to reach out to the large student community across India. This was according to Mr. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, director of IIT-M.

It was mentioned by professor, M.S. Sivakumar, dean (students), IIT-M that the engineers could have fun by taking part in various challenges.

It must be noted that in this year the students introduced Assistive Technology or AT Makethon in association with IIT TTK Centre for Rehabilitation Research and Device Development R2D2 which developed India’s first indigenously designed standing wheel chair. The elder persons, adults and kids with physical issues would get highly benefited by this standing wheel chair.
