Ethiraj College for Women marked its Founder’s Day 2024, commemorating the 134th birth anniversary of founder VL Ethiraj. Madras High Court Justice M Sundar emphasized the importance of women`s education and shared anecdotes highlighting VL Ethiraj`s integrity and legal acumen.
VM Muralidharan, chairman of the Ethiraj College Trust, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the founder’s contributions to women`s education. He also introduced the college’s new Drone Centre, the first among arts colleges, aimed at training students in drone-based services.
Principal and Secretary Dr. S Uma Gowrie discussed the institution`s initiatives to offer advanced subjects like Data Science, Digital Filmmaking, and OTT Production, which have been well-received by students. The event was attended by Dr. M Sekar, financial trustee, board member R Chandrasekar, and former chairperson Chandra Devi Thanikachalam.
