Chennai Corporation to Expand from 15 to 20 Zones for Better Development

The Greater Chennai Corporation will be restructured with an increase in the number of zones from 15 to 20, aiming to enhance development and attract more investments across the city. The decision comes as part of an administrative revamp to improve governance and infrastructure planning. Currently, the corporation is divided into 15 zones, including Tiruvottiyur, Manali, Madhavaram, Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Thiru Vi Ka Nagar, Ambattur, Anna Nagar, Teynampet, Kodambakkam, Valasaravakkam, Alandur, Adyar, Perungudi, and Sholinganallur. The expansion is expected to streamline urban management and accelerate development efforts in newly designated areas.
