The UK government has said that any amount of alcohol increases the risk of cancer. The government issued guidelines on the levels of alcohol advised.

The guidelines say that those who drink regularly should not consume more than 14 units of alcohol in a week.  This would translate into sex pints of beer of seven glasses of wine. This holds good for both men and women. In an earlier guideline, the government had said that men could drink more than women, which has changed.

The government has said that there is no safe drinking limit and that any amount of alcohol can increase the risk of cancer.
