The editorial of the British Medical Journal has claimed that just one glass of wine a day can increase the risk of breast cancer in women. According to a study, women who drink wine - or any alcohol - everyday are 13 per cent more likely to be diagnosed with cancers. This applies to minimal drinking as well. The study shows that the women were most likely to develop breast cancer, which would lead to tumours in the liver, bowel, throat, moth, oesophagus and larynx.
Say experts, People with a family history of cancer, especially women with a family history of breast cancer, should consider reducing their alcohol intake to below recommended limits, or even abstaining altogether.
