A study conducted by researchers at the University of Western Ontario has claimed that pregnancy makes women remember more. It was believed, till now, that women are forgetful during pregnancy.

The researchers studied 54 women. They were made to undergo a series of mental tests. All the women were from similar background and of similar age. Half of the respondents were pregnant, and the other half were childless. The study showed that those who were pregnant performed better in the tests when compared to the other group. This did not include the pregnant women who showed signs of depression.

Said a researcher, When a woman isn`t depressed, pregnancy hormones may alter the brain`s chemistry to improve memory... The idea of `baby brain` may be a result of genuine memory problems faced by pregnant women who suffer from depression.
