KANCHEEPURAM

Kanchipuram is known as the temple city of Tamil Nadu - it has 2 sections - Siva Kanchi and Vishnu Kanchi where famous temples of Lord Siva and Lord Vishnu are located known for their architecture as well and the religiously followed itinerary as per the Hindu calendar. Lord Ekambareswarar temple and Lord Kailsanathar temple for Lord Siva and Lord Varadarajar temple and Lord Ualagalandhar temple for Lord Vishnu are famous and frequently visited tourist spots. Located on the banks of the Vegavathy river, the city was ruled by the Pallavas. It is also the weaving centre of TamilNadu where exquisite and world-famous silk saris are produced.



MAHABALIPURAM

Mamallapuram, or Mahabalipuram, is a town on a strip of land between the Bay of Bengal and the Great Salt Lake, in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It was built by the Pallava dynasty and is world famous for its temples and monuments. In fact, Mamallapuram is referred as an 'open-air museum'. Outstanding sculptural creations have been attracting tourists in large numbers. The Shore Temple, located on the sea front, comprises 3 ornate granite shrines. TADA FALLS/UBBALAMADUGU FALLS

Ubbalamudugu Falls, also called Tada Falls, is a waterfall located near Oneness Temple and Sricity in the Chittoor district of India. This comes under the Buchinaidu kandriga and Varadaiahpalem mandals. The falls are located 80 kilometres (50 mi) from Chennai and 35 kilometres (22 mi) from Srikalahasti. Siddulaiah Kona is the name of the forest in which TADA fall is located. The location has a link with Lord Siva. So, it is a popular tradition for the people to visit TADA falls on the occasion of Maha Sivarathri. The place has fast become famous as a trekking spot as well for which a large number of tourists come.





KAILASAKONA WATERFALLS (Near Tirupati)

Kailasanatha Kona is located in Narayanavanam Mandal, Chittor District, Andhra Pradesh. Kailasantha Kona is well known as a Kaliasa Kona. Delightful waterfalls are the main asset of this place, which is rich in minerals and possesses medicinal powers for the human body. A temple of Lord Shiva and Parvathi is seen nearby. As per mythology, Narayanavanam is the place where Lord Venkateswara married Sri Padmavathi. Lord siva supervised this divine marriage. Lord Shiva was in the Narayanavanam for a complete day. Lord Shiva chose a place resembling his abode, Kailsam, to stay the complete night. That place is Kailasakona which is located with waterfalls and peaceful nature.





ARIGNAR ANNA ZOOLOGICAL PARK

Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is a zoological garden located in Vandalur, a suburb in the southwestern part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is located about 31 kilometres from the city centre and 15 kilometres from Chennai Airport. The park, also known by the abbreviated form AAZP, India's largest zoo in terms of an area covering 1,300 acres. It was originally set up in 1855 (in a different place) and was the first public zoo in India. It is affiliated with the Central Zoo Authority of India. It is spread over an area of 602 hectares (1,490 acres). It includes a 92.45-hectare (228.4-acre) rescue and rehabilitation centre. The park is the largest zoological garden in India. The zoo houses 2,553 species of flora and fauna across 1,265 acres (512 ha). The park houses around 1,500 wild species, including 46 endangered species, in its 160 enclosures. This covers 47 species of mammals, 63 species of birds, 31 species of reptiles, 5 species of amphibians, 25 species of fishes, and 10 species of insects in the park.





PULICAT LAKE & SANCTUARY (Near Srikalahasti)

Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary is a famous 481 sq km area located in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh and Protected area in Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu state in South India. Pulicat Lake is the second largest brackish-water eco-system in India after Chilka lake in Orissa. Pulicat is one of the natural harbours of South India. Pulicat is also one of the famous boating spots, attracting quite a large number of tourists who enjoy the pleasant boating trip around the lake. It has different features in different seasons.The lake gives a serene feel at any time of the year. Seasonal variations of the lake include dry, high level, saline water or sweet water etc. A wide range of birds can be watched.





THIRUTANI

Thiruttani is a town in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, famous for being the birthplace of Indian President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and also the birthplace of Chief Minister of Madras Presidency B. Munuswamy Naidu. It is located 78 kilometres (48 miles) from Chennai. Tiruthani is also one of the 6 famous temples of Lord Muruga (known in Tamil as Arupadai Veedu). As per mythology, the Lord Karthikeya halted in these 6 places along with his entire army. In fact, the Lord Muruga is a major revenue source for the city. VEDANTHANGAL BIRD SANCTUARY (Near Mahabalipuram)

Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is a 30-hectare protected area located in the Kancheepuram District of the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The sanctuary is about 75 kilometres from Chennai on National Highway 45, south of Chengalpattu. More than 40,000 birds (including 26 rare species), from various parts of the world, visit the sanctuary during the migratory season every year. It was converted into a sanctuary in 1798 under the British Rule. A wide range of migratory birds, including pintail, garganey, grey wagtail, blue-winged teal, and common sandpiper. Vedanthangal is the oldest water bird sanctuary in the country. The region attracts a variety of birds because it is dotted with small lakes that acted as feeding grounds for the birds.





NAGALAPURAM (Near Tirupati)

Nagalapuram is a village in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Nagalapuram mandal. This town is home to Vedanarayanaswamy temple, where the presiding deity Lord Vishnu is in the form of Matsya, the first incarnation of Dasavatara. The temple reflects the vijayanagara architectural style. The sanctum sanctorium has Vedanarayana Swamy facing West with his consorts sridevi and Bhoodevi on either side.The temple annual festival, Brahmotsavam, is celebrated on a grand scale.Temple architecture is done in such a way that during these three days, the sun rays fall on the main deity feet, navel and forehead called as "Suriya Pooja". There is a waterfall, Nagalauram Falls which attracts a lot of tourists.
