Rainfall in Chennai and 19 districts due to convention and monsoon
Due to heat conventions and South West Monsoon, decent graph of rainfall is expected in 19 districts including Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Salem, Erode, Trichy and few more in the list that is presented by Chennai weather and meteorological department survey.

Rains in the next 24 hours
South west monsoon has intensified in Andhra, Telangana and Karnataka. Though there will be less impact of the monsoon in Tamil Nadu, there have been rains in the inner districts of Tamil Nadu.

Chennai Rain Update - Atlast we can expect some rains in Chennai today and tomorrow

Sporadic rains expected in the inner districts of Tamil Nadu
