The previous mega Covid-19 vaccination drives in Chennai and in Tamil Nadu have been successful and many persons got vaccinated. On Saturday, the sixth mega Covid-19 vaccination camp will be held in Tamil Nadu. The state health minister Mr M. Subramaniam mentioned that 50000 camps would be organised as a part of the sixth mega vaccination drive.
On Monday, the health minister was busy inaugurating a mobile dental unit at the Government Dental College and Hospital in Chennai. He spoke about how the TN government would be organising vaccination camps on Saturday this time around as many persons were not showing interest to get vaccinated on Sunday. He added that the public were having some misconception about getting vaccinated on days after consuming alcohol and meat etc. On Monday, there were as many as 5364679 vaccine doses in stock and the Union government was dispatching stocks regularly.
As many as 11 lakh people took the second vaccination dose in the 5th mega vaccination drive and 10 lakhs took the second dose in the fourth mega vaccination drive. As many as 3042509 persons would get their second vaccination doses in the upcoming mega vaccination drive on Saturday.
Information collected is that till now 67% of populations have received their first vaccination dose and 25% have received their second dose.
