Sudden order!! More restrictions in Coimbatore district from 17th Sept as COVID cases are increasing!!

To control the increasing Covid-19 infection in the Coimbatore district, the collector Mr. Sameeran has ordered additional restrictions from 17th September onwards. It was mentioned in the press release that the government of TN has been taking several steps to control Covid-19 infection and to provide immediate treatment for the affected persons. The curfew has been extended till 31st October by the TN government. Restrictions have been imposed in the district of Coimbatore from 1st September onwards and this apart from the restrictions imposed by Tamil Nadu government.
Various restrictions that would be there in Coimbatore district from tomorrow onwards
On Sundays, all shops and markets in the Coimbatore district other than essential shops selling milk, medicines, vegetables, groceries etc would be closed. Point is that the restaurants and bakeries have been given permission to sell only parcels on Sundays from 8am to 10pm. On Sundays, all malls, parks, cinema theatres etc would be closed in the Coimbatore district. Just wholesale outlets would be allowed in the markets and just 50% shops have been given permission to function. Farmers markets would be allowed to function with 50% shops on a rotation basis. It is brought out that Pollachi cattle market would be allowed to function with local customers. Outsiders from other districts or states would not be allowed in the markets and this must be mentioned by the municipality commissioner.
In the Coimbatore district more than 82% of the population has been administered with the first dose of Coronavirus vaccination. The shop owners have been requested to monitor the employees working in jewellery shops, shopping malls, clothing stores etc have received atleast the first vaccination dose from 20th September. The public must strictly follow the guidelines and it is their duty.
The collector Mr. Sameeran later spoke about how the public must cooperate with the district administration for the sake of Coronavirus preventive measures.
