In this scenario, one of the leading pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturer Johnson & Johnson has applied to the government seeking approval to undertake trial for administering coronavirus vaccine for the children of age group 12-17.
In a notification released today (Friday, 20th August) by Johnson & Johnson in this regard, it is mentioned:
The important task of immediate administration of corona vaccine for all age groups including children assumes top priority. As such, our application to seek approval to undertake a trial of administering corona vaccine for children in the age group 12-17 has been submitted on Tuesday (17th August).
The central government has already been granted permission by the Indian Medical Council on an emergency basis. Johnson & Johnson has joined with Biological E Limited located in Hyderabad to manufacture and distribute this 1-dose vaccine throughout India.
