There are enough facilities available to vaccinate as many as 3.5lakhs beneficiaries. Information is that most vaccination camps yesterday met with good response.

In the beginning not many residents visited the vaccination camps but after 10 am many thronged these camps to get vaccinated. According to a staff member belonging to Chennai Corporation, forenoon timings were also extended until noon in some cases.  In each ward, the GCC organised 1600 camps in total with 2 static camps and 6 mobile camps. In certain GCC zones like Perungudi and Madhavaram, there was also unavailability of Covaxin.

A resident belonging to Periyar Nagar spoke about how he was disappointed as he could not get administered with the second dose of vaccination despite receiving a SMS that mentioned that the second dose was due. He added that their names were taken down at the vaccination camp and vaccines would be made available soon.  The vaccination camps yesterday were held near parks, malls, bus stands and railway stations plus in the residential areas etc
