Trip to any foreign country while studying in school could be a dream come true for many students!!
On Sunday, 23rd February 2025, as many as 52 exceptional students studying in the classes 6 to 9 in TN run government middle and high schools started their educational tour to Malaysia for a week till 28th February . Sound`s incredible right!!
The main aim of this educational tour would be to promote global exposure for the young achievers. The 52 students were accompanied by 4 teachers and officials etc.
It must be recalled that at the TN Assembly an announcement was made regarding TN govt sponsoring international education trips for students excelling in academics, sports, literature, arts etc. Point to be noted here is that this programme would broaden student`s horizons by exposing them to global cultures and educational practices.
It is superb to note that these 52 students were selected through a rigorous process and they represent top performers in diverse areas. The areas include literary competitions, sports, quizzes and cultural festivals etc. In the past, many students were sent to countries like Singapore, South Korea and Japan etc.
Various cultural and educational sites these students would visit in Malaysia during their week stay would be Chocolate Museum, Batu Caves Murugar Temple, Genting Highlands, K.L. Tower and Malaysian Tamil Sangam etc. It is known that Tamil Sangam is an organisation that celebrates Tamil heritage. It is said that this Malaysia visit has been designed to blend learning with cultural immersion.
On Sunday, the excited and enthusiasm filled students arrived in their school uniforms at the Chennai airport. Airport authorities as well as the officials from TN school education dept welcomed them. Parents as well as the school administrators expressed their happiness regarding this trip to Malaysia.
As per a state education official, the Malaysian tour would be a learning experience and many young students would get inspired. It is revealed that once the students arrive at Chennai (after their Malaysian educational tour) they would share their superb experience with their classmates etc and that would be sensational for other students too.
