Metro Line Approved from Chennai Airport to Kilambakkam
The Tamil Nadu government has approved the metro expansion project from Chennai Airport to Kilambakkam. The Chennai Metro Rail Corporation (CMRL) has also received permission to begin the land acquisition process for this development.
The proposed metro line will cover a total distance of 15.46 km, passing through key areas such as Pallavaram, Chromepet, Tambaram, Perungalathur, and Vandalur. Once completed, commuters will be able to travel directly from Chennai Central Railway Station to Kilambakkam via the metro.
The Metro Rail administration has already submitted the initial project report to the state government, which has granted approval. The next step involves preparing a detailed project report to be sent to the Central Government for further clearance.
