Glad News: Chennai Day celebrations on behalf of Greater Chennai Corporation at Besant Nagar Beach!

On the grand occasion of Chennai Day, grand celebrations are to be conducted at the Besant Nagar beach today (Saturday, 20th August) and tomorrow (Sunday, 21st August) on behalf of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC)!
In a notification released by the Greater Chennai Corporation in this regard, it is mentioned:
"The city of Chennai was created in the year 1639!
This has developed into a Mega City growing in several important fields (cultural, industrial, technical, academic, entertainment, and sports) in 383 years!
`Chennai Day` is celebrated on 22nd August every year!
For this year`s (2022) `Chennai Day` celebrations, several cultural and entertainment programmers are to be performed at the Chennai Besant Nagar Beach from 3.30 PM to 11.30 PM on behalf of the Greater Chennai Corporation jointly with the Confederation of Indian Industry.
The various cultural and entertainment programmes are to bring out the traditional and cultural splendour and apart from these sports events, sales of food dishes, through shops, etc., are being organized.
Further, on behalf of the Greater Chennai Corporation, Corona Vaccination camps and sales of organic fertilizers are also organized on behalf of the Greater Chennai Corporation.
`Selfie Booths` are being set up in all the major parks in Chennai Metro City as a part of the Chennai Day Celebrations to facilitate the citizens to click photos!
The event of planting saplings in several places in Chennai Metro City is also to be performed!
A special song for the occasion is also being released!
