What happened at the 77th College Day celebrations at the famous Ethiraj College in Chennai?

Ethiraj College celebrated its 77th College Day recently. In the event, Famous ENT Surgeon and MD of MERF Chennai Dr. Mohan Kameswaran made his presence felt. He delivered the address and distributed prizes to the college students.
It is learnt that Mr. V. Muralidharan, chairman, Ethiraj College Trust welcomed the gathering and explained the new initiatives at the institution such as emerging technologies and incubation centre etc. The progress and achievements of the college were brought out by Dr. S. Uma Gowrie who is the principal and secretary of Ethiraj College.
Mr. VL. Ethiraj was the founder of this college is known. At the event, Dr. Mohan Kameswaran highlighted the contributions of Mr. VL. Ethiraj to women`s education, empowerment etc. It was mentioned by Dr. Mohan Kameswaran that women`s education was important for ensuring dignity in the society. There was variety of cultural activities that were performed by the students
It must be recalled that recently Ethiraj College was granted College with Potential for Excellence Status by UGC and has been re-accredited with A+ grade by the NAAC or National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
