Power shutdown in industrial and commercial areas

All high tension industrial units and other commercial establishments will be facing 20% of power cut during 20 hours of the day. In the remaining four hours – between 6 pm and 10 pm, the power cut range will be 90%. There are totally 5585 connections among these industrial and commercial sectors. The 20% power cut is expected to save 400 MW of power which will then be used for supply to the domestic areas.
It is said that the government has planned for such a power shutdown in order to avoid power cut for the domestic customers
