It was later brought out by Mr. Senthamarai Kannan, director of Area Cyclone Warning Centre, Chennai that the rainfall would occur in the southern parts of TN initially and cover many other parts by 30th of January.
Information is that Chennai might continue to have chilly mornings with misty cover for the next few days with minimum temperatures around 21 degrees Celsius to 22 degrees Celsius. The day temperature might go up by 2 degrees Celsius but not further because of cool easterly winds that would be present over the region.
Karur Paramathi recorded the maximum temperature of 33.5 degrees Celsius on Friday against the day`s average of 31.2 degrees Celsius. It must be noted that this was the hottest temperature recorded in Tamil Nadu. The RMC hasn`t yet announced the withdrawal of NE monsoon as rainfall has been continuing in this month of January also.
