Safety devices installed in the VB trains in the production stage itself - Southern Railways!!
One important piece of information that has been revealed by some officials belonging to the Southern Railway or SR regarding Vande Bharat trains was about the safety features that were fitted in the trains during the manufacturing stage itself. Truth is that VB trains are being fitted with Kavach safety systems and other safety devices during the manufacturing stage itself.
There have been reports from the Media questioning about the safety devices in VB trains. The SR has now clarified that with faster acceleration and semi high speed operation up to 160kmph, the VB trains have been designed with modern coupling design that transmits impact energy throughout the trains.
The clarification from the SR mentioned that the front nose of these trains have been designed to absorb energy when a cattle gets hit by the train. Point is that the front nose is made of material that would crumble and absorb impact energy. Any cattle that come on the track would get deflected by the cattle guard present at the front. The clarification highlighted the presence of Kavach safety system in addition to the braking system.
It is sensational to note that VB trains have run lakhs of kilometres now and these trains have proved safe and efficient. This was as per the statement. The hallmarks of VB trains are high speeds, enhanced safety and world class service. It is now revealed that the Indian Railways have already fenced more than 3500 km of railway tracks.
