Pongal festival bonus for the Tamil Nadu state government employees

The state government of Tamil Nadu has ordered to pay Pongal bonus to all the ‘C’ and ‘D’ category state government employees. During the year 2018, a maximum bonus of Rs. 3000 was paid to all the regular monthly-salaried employees in the ‘C’ and ‘D’ category employees, internal administration employees, and the employees of the government-aided educational institutions.

This system is to be followed by the state government for this year 2019 as well. So, all the regular monthly salaried state government employees in part-time as well as full-time categories, contract employees, workers in the nutrition meal and anganwadis, village assistants, the rural administrative secretaries appointed on special-term, contract employees, and daily-wage employees will be paid a Pongal special bonus of Rs. 1000 only.

However, this order will not be applicable to the Tamil Nadu state government employees in ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories, All India Duty Officers, and the employees of the University Grants Commission, Technology Assistance Council, Indian Agricultural Research Corporation.

For the employees who had retired after working under the ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories, all other kinds of pensioners, the employees earning the special pension, etc., will be given a Pongal festival bonus of Rs. 500 as per the state government order.
