MTC to Introduce ₹2,000 Monthly Pass for All Bus Services

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) is set to launch a new ₹2,000 monthly pass, allowing unlimited travel on all Chennai city buses, including AC services. According to a Thanthi TV report, the scheme is expected to roll out by May or June, with MTC finalizing the implementation process.
Currently, a ₹1,000 monthly pass is available for commuters. Passengers have urged MTC to retain the existing pass alongside the new scheme to ensure affordability for all.
