The state minister for school education, Mr. K. A. Sengottaiyan informed that activities are in progress regarding a decision on conducting public examinations for the +1 class as done for the 10th and 12th Standards. An announcement regarding this can be expected in 1 or 2 days.
A special consulting committee meeting was held at the DPI office today (Wednesday, 17th May) morning with the district education officers.
The minister had a session with the press reporters after the meeting. A detailed study has been undertaken regarding whether to conduct public examinations for the class of +1, just as being done for 10th Standards and 12 the Standards.
Consultations are being held with the school teachers as well. An announcement (or a government order) about this is likely in 1 or 2 days.
The dates of schools reopening will be decided after consultations with parents of the students. All the text books for the next academic year are ready.
