Extreme Rains are lashing Nellai and Kanyakumari belts. Both Papanasam Dam and Manimuthar Dam have got 300 mm in last 12 hours. At this rate, Papanasam dam will overflow in a day or two. Rajakamangalam in Kanyakumari has got 200 mm till now. Manjolai and Kodayar region should report even more rains

This pictorial will show where it is raining and why it is raining. The cyclone has moved away. But still rains will continue today and tomorrow. From saturday it will reduce totally. Even coimbatore will get rains due moist winds pulled interior as a result of cyclone on other side. Coonoor / Ketti watch out.

Thamirabarani River - Watch out those who are living near the river banks.

If Papanasam Dam becomes full, there will be release of surplus. So do keep a watch on the announcements on surplus water release.
