Deadline for paying electricity bill has been extended now in 4 districts of TN

The deadline for paying electricity bill for LT as well as LTCT customers has been extended till 5th July 2020. This was according to TN state run power utility Tangedco. The reason for the extension in electricity bill payment was due to the extension in the lock down till 30th June 2020. The customers belonging to four districts like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet and Kancheepuram could feel relieved now.
It has been revealed by an official release that those customers whose due date falls between 25th March and 5th July would be given time till 6th July 2020.The customers could feel happy that they need not pay for disconnections and re-connection charges if they pay their bills within the above mentioned date.
The official release explained that for those customers belonging to other districts in TN other than the four mentioned above, and whose last date for payment of electricity bills falls between 25th March and 15th June must pay their bills by 16th of June 2020.
It must be noted that for HT connections that have not made any payment for the months like February, March and April Tangedco had forgone its right to disconnect such services.
It was pointed out by Tangedco that those with HT connections could pay their electricity bills till 15th June to avoid disconnection and payment of re-connection fees. Important information is if anybody has got doubt regarding their electricity bill amount then they must approach appropriate section office of Tangedco for the purpose of seeking clarity.
