Chennai Corporation has released a ward wise voters list for the upcoming elections!!
It is known that there are 200 wards in Chennai. It is now brought out that in these 200 wards more than 61lakh voters would be voting in the urban local body elections.
On Thursday, 9th December 2021, the Chennai Corporation commissioner Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi grabbed many eyeballs when he released the voters list in the presence of representatives from political parties. It was mentioned by the release from the Chennai Corporation that all the divisions have a total of 6118734 voters and of those as many as 3023803 are males, 3093355 are females and as many as 1576 are transgenders.
Information collected is that ward 159 in Alandur has got the least number of voters that is 3116 voters and ward 137 of Kodambakkam has the highest number of voters of 58620.At all the division places in Chennai, the voters list has been placed for public verification. It is now possible for the residents to verify whether their names and other details have been included in the voters list or not. The complete list of polling stations in Chennai has been released by the civic body now.
There would be a total of 5794 polling stations and of these 255 would be exclusively for men and 255 exclusively for women. It is important to mention here that there are as many as 622 polling stations in Teynampet zone and that is the highest. Manali zone with 97 polling stations is the lowest.
