Due to the current incessant rains in Karnataka, all dams are filling up quite fast!
The inflow to KRS (Krishna Raja Sagar) and Kabini dams has been continuously increasing!
Inflow at KRS dam is 38858 cft per second! As such, 4070 cft is being released from the dam!
Inflow at Kabini dam is 17355 cft per second! Water has been let out at 4000 cft per sec.
From these 2 dams, 8000 cft of water is released to the Kaveri River.
The officials have informed us that this released water will reach the Tamil Nadu border tonight at 12.00. (July 9, Saturday)!
Yesterday, the inflow to Hoganekal of Dharmapuri District was 5000 cft. Presently, it has been raining quite heavily in the water catchment areas.
Due to this, the inflow to Hoganekal has increased to 5200 cft. As such, water was over-pouring at the Main Aruvi, Aindharuvi, and Cine-falls! Further, the ware was overflowing in the Kaveri River as well!
The Central Water Resources Department officials are monitoring the situation at the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border area of Biligundulu!
Meanwhile, lots of tourists have gathered at Hoganekal! They enjoyed bathing in the falls with their relatives and friends!
