For the convenience of the passengers, Rail Tel has launched WI-FI services in 23 railway stations throughout India. A senior railway official has mentioned that Patna tops the list for the maximum number of searches.

Last month the WI-FI services were launched in Patna railway station. More than any other railway station in the country, where free Wi-Fi service was launched, the Patna railway station is on the top in the country for using internet search, particularly searches for porn sites. People also use the service to search Youtube, Wikipedia, download apps, Bollywood and Hollywood movies. RailTel provides 1 gigabyte Wi-Fi at the Patna railway station at present, and it plans to increase to 10 gigabytes eventually as internet speed is slow due to large number of users.

Though Patna tops the usage of WI-FI services, there is controversy because it is used for searching porn websites.

This railway station is one of the crowded ones with more than 200 trains passing through it daily. After Patna, Jaipur railway station is second to use internet search, followed by Bengaluru and New Delhi.
