In Chennai, Rapido bike taxi launched

It is well known that commuting, navigating through small roads and traffic snarls has been an issue for many now in Chennai. In this scenario what Bengaluru based Rapido Bike has done is simply superb. On Wednesday, 23rd January 2019, this Rapido Bike launched its bike taxi operations in Chennai through the famous personality Mr. RJ. Balaji and it caught the attention of many.
Regional manager of Rapido Bike, Shravana expressed his thoughts. He spoke about how Rapido would be playing its role in providing economic, cost effective, fuel efficient and time saving transport for the people of the Chennai city. In the morning peak hours of time there would be heavy traffic congestions in Chennai is known. This Rapido Bike would help to tackle the issues of many commuters due to the above mentioned reason.
Navigating through the traffic snarls and reaching the destination in correct time would be possible by this Rapido Bike with bike taxi operations. He then added that an alternative option is provided to the commuters like a bike instead of car or public transport. It is worth mentioning that to avail Rapido services a person has to download the Rapido mobile app and then book the ride similar to other app based cab service. Then he or she would be picked up by Rapido Captain or rider from the location and would later be dropped at their destinations.
The important piece of information collected was commuter has to pay a base rate of Rs 15 plus a distance charge of Rs 3 per kilometre. The important point is Rapido Bike is now offering a starting rate of Rs 19 till 3 kms of distance for the people. Regional manager of Rapido later explained about how 500 bikes taxis were launched in the Chennai city and how the background checks have been done on all the drivers. He finally gave assurance that the bike a commuter would get for the travel would not be more that 10 years old even though the commuter might not get the bike he/she wants. Some cities where this Rapido services are making their presence felt are Bengaluru, Mysuru, Coimbatore, Trichy, Hyderabad etc.
