Heavy rainfall expected on 1st and 2nd December

Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned that there will be heavy rains on 1st and 2nd December in one or two places of coastal Tamil Nadu.

Its December 1st again, and there is going to be heavy rains

Before reading further, please take a look at the IMD definition of intensity rainfall. This is the 1st low pressure in this NEM moving towards Tamil Nadu coast. The previous two went away.

New depression zone formed over the Bay of Bengal

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that a new depression zone has formed over the Bay of Bengal . Due to this, rains are expected for 4 days in Tamil Nadu starting from 1st December.

Yesterdays trough of low pressure at mean sea level over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman sea now lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal and neighborhood.

Chennai and other places in Tamil Nadu to get rains sometime around Dec 1st week

This is period when i normally put update on rains, sadly this year the update has been on the cold nights. The north interior Tamil Nadu particularly the Krishnagiri, Vellore and Dharmapuri.
